Stress Time Management for Optimal Results
If you are looking for an excellent way to reduce stress, time management is a great place to start. Stress is
often the result of feeling that we do not have enough time to manage all the things that must be done in the
course of the day. The double whammy to that is that most people feel this stress both at home and in their
careers. It seems that no matter how well we wish to plan ahead. If you are anything like me you often feel that
for every step you take forward you are taking two steps back. However if you stress time management in your life,
you just might find that you are eliminating a good deal of the stress in your life.
Believe it or not learning to stress time management or making time management a top priority in your personal and
professional life will help your stress levels drop rapidly in a relatively small amount time. This is particularly
true if you are putting the time management techniques into action in both your personal and professional lives.
There is no better gift you can give yourself in life than peace of mind and learning to manage your time rather
than continuously being managed by a perceived lack of time will work wonders towards that end.
When it comes to stress, time management can be achieved through simple activities such as planning your day from
the very beginning. Set realistic goals for the day and give yourself a timeframe for completing those goals. Keep
track of the time that is spent on the phone, pouring over useless emails, sending text messages, etc. That is lost
time that simply can't be recovered. If you are going to do that, try doing it during your children's soccer
practice rather than when your time would be better spent on matters of importance to your career.
You should also avoid time hogs at work such as surfing the net and online shopping. In the information age, this
is tempting and if you must do so be sure to do it during your lunch hour rather than on company time. Speaking of
lunch, you can save a good deal of time by bringing your lunch to work rather than leaving to get lunch every day.
The stress time management or lack thereof can introduce to your workday is often something that can easily
avoided.
In the work place, I cannot stress time management or the importance of proper time management enough. We are
constantly facing outsourcing, downsizing, and sheer competition for a limited number of positions. For this reason
it is important to have an edge. If you are constantly behind in your work, or pressing ever so close to the
deadlines you will find that those who are on task and on target will be chosen over you for advancement and in
many cases when the time for layoffs arrives.
When your workday ends however you should stress time management and its importance at home in order to insure that
you have time at the end of the day to do the things that are important to you and your family. Time management
isn't only about eliminating the stress of never having enough time to get everything that needs to be done
accomplished. It is also about having the time left over to get around to the things you would like to have
accomplished as well. Learn to stress time management in your life and you might be surprised to find that this is
the best cure for the stress in your life.
